Titus's Rampage (NXT ep 101 reviewed)

NXT would kick off with new heel Titus O' Neil. Titus would ask the WWE universe to apologize to him. Titus announced that he had liberated himself from the universe, and would be interrupted by Percy Watson. Percy would ask Titus why he turned his back on the WWE universe. Titus asked Percy to follow his example, Percy would decline. Titus would shove Percy, Matt Striker would come down to announce the main event match between Percy Watson and Titus O' Neil.

Percy Watson would start with strike and built up some offense. The referee would break up the striking, this gave Titus the opening who would throw Percy outside, ram his back against the apron and gained control.Titus's offense would be more aggresive, anytime Percy attempted to build up momentum, Titus stopped him in his tracks.Percy finally built up some offense after a big boot, and would score a two count after his splash. Titus would pick up the win with his spinebuster.

Post match Titus would attack Percy, Alex Riley would come to the aid throwing Titus out.

Titus was such a bore as a babyface, WWE has taken the right step making him a heel. The match between the two was ok, Titus still is a bit sloppy when dominating, Percy's moves were perfect, everyone gave the apperance that it was real. The storyline Titus has, I think they could have made it better, rather than have him compete against his former friend, WWE could have made Titus a big star by making Titus be jealous of RAW and Smackdown superstars, attacking them, this would have made NXT much more interesting.

Matt Striker would head backstage and be caught up by Curt Hawkins and Tyler who asked why they were not in the main event.

Curt Hawkins & Tyler Rex would compete against the Usos in a tag team match, Hawkins and Jimmy would start off, The Usos quickly demonstrated their tag team skills and remain in control despite a blind tag from Reks.. Reks would gain control after Hawkins caused a distraction. Hawkins and Reks would keep the pressure on with numerous quick tags. After a long beating Jay would pick up some momentum and make a tag to Jimmy. Jimmy would unload on the Hawkins, however Reks would break the cover, this lead to Jay and Reks spilling outside. Curt would almost win with a innovative flap jack. Hawkins would grab his cane, but Jimmy would hit a superkick for the win.

I was very surprised by the outcome of this match, I thought this would be a heel win for Curtis provoking a rivalry between the teams. However The Usos instead won, picking up some momentum, I assume for a tag team championship match at Rumble. The match was great on both parts. Reks showcased power very well, and The Usos again showcased amazing tag team technique.

Backstage Bateman would converse with Kaitlyn about his love victory. Kaitlyn would tell Bateman that Johnny was at the arena.

Trent Barreta would take on the one man rock band, Heath Slater. Slater would strikes, and Trent would return with strikes, knocking Slater outside, Trent would land on his feet after missing a dive, this would give Slater the opportunity to take advantage. Trent would create an opening with an enziguri, and build up some offense. Trent would go up top, Slater would counter with a top rope snap powerslam but only getting a two count.Trent would attempt to hit a tornado DDT, but Slater would land his finisher for the win.

Trent Barreta is just awesome in ring, why did he lose. He has such amazing athleticism, and WWE are just doing the same thing they did with Evan Bourne. More and more cruiser-weights are on WWE, I would love the cruiser-weight title to return. Slater was ok in the match, but not his best work. Trent was awesome as always.

Next would be a wedding debate between Curtis and Bateman. Johnny would begin to talk about Maxine's fingernails, Maxine and Bateman would come down to the ring. Bateman Curtis would exchange comments. Maxine would conclude the debate with a knee to the groin of Curtis.

I am so bored of this dumb storyline. This was an absolute terrible rip off of the jerry springer show. Just end this please WWE. Maxine is not a good actor and ruined the segment. Johnny won season 4, and was supposed to have a WWE tag team championship match with R-Truth, but this just got losed. WWE bring back the old NXT, where future stars actually tried to become WWE stars. Season 1, 2, 3 were awesome. Bring it back

Elvis Striker !? (100th episode of NXT reviewed)

NXT would kick off kick off with a new intro, Followed by welcoming Michael Cole to commentary.
The first match on NXT would be the match announced last week, a no DQ match between Titus O’ Neil and Darren Young. After a game of cat and mouse, Titus would take control with some big impact moves. The match would lead to the outside, where Darren Young would take control until Titus countered with a snap powerslam. Darren would counter with a neckbreaker on the apron and gain control. Darren would try to win with his double knee gutbuster, but this would be a 2 count. Titus would them counter into his spinebuster winning the match.

Post match he thanked his dogs (fans) this would be a heel turn, as he would thank them for nothing.  This would be because his pro Hornswaggle, went to Smackdown. He stated that he was the star of NXT.

The match was a big disappointment, when WWE has a no DQ, it always has had chairs. What was the point of making this match No DQ if they didn't do anything that would cause a DQ. Big Let down. The only thing that saved the match was a heel turn, 'bout time

Next would be an alumni match between Heath Slater and Percy Wattson. Percy would quickly gain the upperhand and showcase his athleticism Slater would counter with a kick to the knee and pound Watson with strikes. During the match Josh Mathews stated that Percy, Titus and Darren Young were the remaining rookies in NXT. Percy Watson would begin to pick up the pace as he hit Slater with a barrage of moves, before getting a 2 count. Slater would attempt to gain control, but would be countered into a face buster for the win.

The Match overall was decent. Back and forth. I thought that Slater would win, but Showtime privailed. No botches which was good. Impressive effort on Slater, gotta give the guy credit when due.

The next match would be a tag team that sparked last week, when Trent Barreta beat Curt Hawkins, Tyler Reks would attack Trent, but Yoshi would come to Trent’s aid. Trent would start off with Curt Hawkins. Curt and Tyler would take control early with a quick tag, Yoshi hit a blind tag on Barreta and would hit Tyler with a barrage of kicks. Tyler would counter with a thumb to the eye and beat down on Yoshi, He and Curt would tag in and out which would begin to build a hot tag, Yoshi would counter a running powerslam, putting in place a hot tag. Trent tagged in. building up some offense, before going up top to hit a corkscrew  moonsault, the pin would be broken up by Hawkins, Yoshi would come in, but dragged away by the referee, this allowed Hawkins to hit a low blow, Giving Tyler Reks the win.

Finally Hawkins, Finally you get a win. You've been a jobber for far to long. HOORAY! Haven't seen a dirty tag win with a low blow in sometime, This was the best match of the night despite the botch where Yoshi got his leg caught in the ropes. But on commentary, Josh Mathews stated that GM Matt Striker, since when does NXT have a GM. Will titles be added to NXT, who knows.

The main event was the WWE Wedding of Maxine and Johnny Curtis. This would feature a Elvis impersonator. Johnny Curtis would come down to the ring with some guy who we presume to be his best man. Maxine would come to the ring. The guy would be Chad, Johnny’s best friemd. Elvis would be revealed to be Matt Striker. Derrick Bateman would come down, saying that he did not send the email, and would show a security camera of Johnny Curtis sending an email. This would lead to Maxine slapping Curtis and a fight breaking between Bateman and Curtis, Maxine dragged Curtis off Bateman, which would allow Bateman to hit a front facelock DDT, This would result in the two reconciling, and making out as NXT went off the air.

I don't know if anyone saw this new intro, but I think this pretty much guarantees the fact that NXT is officially a place where they stick the superstars they don't need on major brands, like Heat, Velocity and Superstars.

The first match would be the match announced last week, and was not what I expected, when I hear no DQ I immediately assume steel chair usage, but on NXT, there was none of that. The only thing I enjoyed was Titus's Heel turn. It's about damn Time.

The Reks&Hawkins/Yoshi&Barreta Rivalry is very enjoyable, predictable but enjoyable.

Percy Watson is not a rookie in NXT season 5, it is Derrick Bateman, Darren Young and Titus who are left in the competition. When Bateman came back, I was surprised, but for some reason NXT has lost its way.

The WWE wedding, always filled with something that causes chaos. What happened to the good ol days of showing great video footage of a drive threw ceremony, not a stupid email, that obviously was short as hell.

Overall I would give the 100th episode of NXT 3/10

1( Barret/Yoshi match )
2( Matt Striker as Elvis )
3 (Titus Heel Turn )

NXT last double digit episode (EP 99)

NXT began witthAlicia Fox and Maxine in the ring, to summarise the meeting they had a cat fight which resulted in a match between them. Maxine dominated the majority of the match. Hitting some impressive moves on Alicia. Alicia would counter by whipping Alicia into the corner, but Maxine would counter by jumping over and hitting what appeared to be a sleeper hold. Alicia escaped and would counter an attempted roll up to gain the win.
My opinion of this woohoo. Maxine is a great heel character and can back it up in the ring. Plus her outfit, is a definite bonus. Alicia, I feel she has been lacking lately wrestling wise, she has become sloppy in the ring. This match would set up a backstage skit between Aksana and Maxine backstage, but before this, Derrick Bateman would be talking to Justin Gabriel about the love triangle, stating that he was over Maxine, Justin said to Bateman that Maxine was mad about an email Bateman had sent to Teddy Long, that Maxine was holding him back. Johnny shouted  out Curtis, insinuating that Johnny had hacked his email. Bateman would interrupt Maxine's and Aksanas conversation. He then tried to tell Maxine that Curtis had hacked his email, however Maxine would not listen and commanded the conversation. She said that her and Johhny would go to the top while Bateman would be here for the 200th episode of NXT.

Maxine accompanied Curtis down to the ring in Johnny Curtis vs Alex Riley. Johnny and Alex began to showcase their strength, Johnny would gain the upper hand, after he returned to the ring, because Alex hit a hip toss, which Johnny rolled out the ring from. Johnny would take control until Riley began to build momentum afte an STO, following two big clotheslines. Curtis would then hit an impressive suplex to counter Riley and win the match. Bateman would comment after the match to the couple that next week this ends

I sincerely hope that the 200th episode of NXT is not season 5 of NXT, and I am not the only one thinking that right? As for the wedding, WWE has always had a unusual wedding, lets never forget Triple H's attendance at numerous weddings. I expect that Bateman will win back Maxine, however, I think Maxine could be a major Diva. The Diva division is so boring, I remember when Trish Stratus, Lita, Mickie James and Molly Holly made the women's division a big part of WWE, they were not just hot, but had great impact and promotion, today the Women's division really lacks this. I hope that Kharma (if she returns) makes The Womens division something again. Alex Riley has lost his touch, this does reinforce my point that WWE's new stars are so dull that they all return to where they started. the only decent new star is Wade Barrett.

The second match would be Tyler Reks vs Trent Barreta, as last week Barreta beat Hawkins. This also followed a stint in which Yoshi and Barreta glued Reks hands to a controller. This match was a good old fashion David vs Goliath. Trent would be dominated to begin with, but would build up momentum with high flying moves. He would hit a outside dive senton to Both Reks and Hawkins, However upon entering the ring Hawkins distracted Trent and Reks took control. Reks would dominate the match, preventing Barreta to build up momentum but only scoring 2 counts. Reks picked up Trent to hit an inverted TKO, however Trent would counter to a pin and win the match. Curt Hawkins would then attack Trent, until Yoshi came in and cleaned house.

Trent is amazing, and if the cruiser-weight title was still in, I would definitely have him as champs. Yoshi and him could be a great tag team like, Kendrick and London or London and Kidman. However until a heel obtains these titles, I don't see this happening.

A tag team match between JTG & Tyson Kidd vs The Usos. Tyson and (I think) Jay would start up. Both displayed great athletic ability, and The Usos gained control with a tag (to Jimmy I think) Tyson would tag to  JTG after he kicked out of a pin. But the Usos still dominated with another quick tag, followed by another tag. JTG would gain control after (I think) Jimmy got distracted by Tyson. Tyson would be tagged in, and distract the Ref while JTG stood on the back of Jimmy. Tyson would dominate until Jimmy countered with a spinning forarm. This built into a hot tag, (I think) Jay hit a consecutive series of moves, to earn a 2 count after Tyson broke it up, he would knock down the other Uso and attempt to hit an outside dive on him, but would be countered into a samoan drop into the barricade. JTG tried to hit a diving move, but would be countered into a kick to the jaw by Jimmy for the win.

The Usos are a very popular tag team, however WWE will need more tag teams, mainly heels to really get the tag team devision back. Over the years it went from the popular Hardy Boys, Dudleys to the Air Boom and Usos, with hardly any heel opponents. The Miz is a great heel and has had some amazing tag teams. However they all end up breaking up. Jo Mo and Miz were an epic team.

The final segment of the night would be a face off between Darren Young and Titus O' Neil. This had been due to weeks of rivalry promotion. Darren Young began by announcing himself as the most dominant man on NXT. He then went onto blow his own horn until Titus came down and grabbed a mic. Darren would insult him and the city they were in ( classic heel) Titus would respond with a dog Howl accompanied by the crowd. He called him a coward, for attacking. Titus would then say "This whole competition began with guys who did everything they could to prove to be a WWE superstar, but somewhere along the line, it missed all it's challenges, which obviously the host, Matt Striker has given up on, The redemption points" He then said that he and Darren should face each other man to man. Darren rejected this, and insulted Titus's family, this lead to a fight between the two, Matt announced a match between Titus and Darren with no DQ, referees attempted to drag the two men apart, Regal on commentary encouraged this.

The quote that Titus has said, I wish NXT would revert back to it's old state rather than the way it is now. As to the match, I am looking forward to it, should be good. but for the 100th episode, I would prefer a winner to NXT season 5, who agress?

This episode of NXT, I would score it a 5/10

1 (Divas Match)
2 (Amazing tag team match)
3 (Fight between Titus and Young)
4 (No DQ match announced)
5 (Great match Barreta vs Reks)
6 (Titus talked about how NXT has changed)

My question to the readers are:

1) What do you think will happen at the wedding?

2) Any ideas to a popular heel tag team?

3) Who is awaiting Kharmas return?

NXT first episode of 2012 review (Episode 98)

Now before I begin, I'd like to express my opinion on NXT, feel free to skip to the next paragraph and ignore this. NXT replaced ECW, and was a reality tv show similar to tough enough. I began watching the series, and I thoroughly enjoyed season 1 of NXT. I was glad that Wade one, because he was mentored by Jericho mainly, but he could wrestle. The second season was similar and enjoyable, Kaval was the most interesting for his in ring ability, he went on to win but left WWE soon after. Season 3 was a diva NXT, which i did enjoy, the majority couldn't wrestle, apart from Kaitlyn, who won season 3. Season 4 Johhny Curtis was not my favourite at all, I was a Bateman fan, Johhny won, winning a tag team championship oppertunity with his pro R-Truth, this however never went a head. Season 5, the current season was redemption. This intrigued me as previous competitors returned for a spot. Once NXT redemption reached the final two competitors, Titus o' Neil and Darren Young (Who was on Raw very briefly I might add). For some reason, they felt the need to add another superstar to the mix, Derrick Bateman, this annoyed me. You don't see in a 400 meter dash, another runner enter with 10 meters left in the race do you? Not in any 400 meter dash I've seen, that wasn't on the simpsons.
NXT then became like old WWE shows like Heat and Velocity, where boring superstars, or under promoted superstars go when the Branded shows (Smackdown and RAW) have no time for them. My opinion, they should get rid of the superstars, who are doing nothing. JTG is nothing really without crime time is he?

Any way, now that that's of my chest lets begin. NXT began with Matt Striker talking about NXT approaching the 100th episode, well NXT redemption (season 5) is almost as long as all previous seasons combined. What happened to the obstacle course, I mean it had nothing to do with wrestling, but sure was fun to watch, especially the divas running through it, Am I right? (Post a Comment). Matt then welcomed a former NXT star, Michael McGilicutty, now he is a third generation superstar, and son of Mr Perfect, Curt Henning. I think he is a great in ring athlete and has potential on WWE. He came out and did the stereotypical comment of running down what ever city or state they were in. This was clearly setting up a fight, between a face. Another former NXT star Alex Riley came out to confront him, this was meet with an exchanging of words followed  by them grappling each other, dragging them to the floor and rolling over each other. Matt called for a ref so the match could begin. Now Alex Riley was on Raw for some time, he even appeared in some PPV, when he was Miz's apprentice. He then gained some fans by the heel turns face maneuver. However he seemed to disappear after this, and ended up right back where he started. The match however was a great match. Nice back and forth. But the ending was pulled of so beautifully. McGilicutty was setting Riley up for his finisher the McGilicutter. Alex Riley avoided this and delivered a beautiful brilliant "Your dismissed" on to McGilicutty for the win.

Following this, was footage of last weeks match between Derrick Bateman and Johhny Curtis, with Maxine watching. In case you didn't watch this, Bateman won by a school boy roll-up, he then asked Maxine to take him, she walked out of the ring, up the ramp to the stage where Johhny Curtis was, she slapped him and made out with him. The camera cut to Kaitlyn and Derrick, Kaitlyn was telling Bateman to move on and forget Maxine. Maxine and Curtis arrived on the scene, haha, like they weren't waiting off screen for their big scene. The ladies exchanged some comments, and Maxine and Curtis left.

The next match was Kaitlyn vs Maxine, I watched the season 3 NXT, and the girls were hot, but couldn't wrestle. I take that back, as Kaitlyn showed how amazing her wrestliing skills had improved. Maxine as well competed very well. But in the end Maxine was victorious.

Following this was a WWE RAW promo, so I think I'll follow with a link to my WWE RAW reviewed blog.

After the promo, the camera cut to a backstage skit where Trent Barreta and Yoshi Tatsu where playing a video game on an X-Box (I assume it was WWE 12, to promote their product). Curt Hawkins and Tyler Reks. Curt made fun of them for playing videogames, while Tyler picked up a controller and challenged them to a two on two video game match, Hawkins said he doesn't play videogames. Tyler realised that his hands were stuck to the controller, haha, how original, I actually mean it, WWE hasn't done a backstage stint where a superstar has a had his hands super glued to an X-Box controller. Trent and Yoshi headed to the ring for the match.

The match was between Trent Barreta vs Curt Hawkins. Yoshi was in the corner of Trent, while Reks ( still with his hand glued to the controller) was there for Hawkins. Curt dominated the match from the get go, delivering some powerful moves, as Barreta had become a tool that WWE used to promote bigger superstars. This was until Trent reversed a running strike from Hawkins, and delivered a running high knee. He continued the high flying offence, hitting an outside dive on hawkins, after tossing him back in the ring, Reks distracted Barreta, which Curt attempted to take advantage of, by delivering a back suplex to Barreta, He rolled out of this, and lured Hawkins to the corner, reversing with an elbow, and finishing Curt with a tornado DDT. I thoroughly enjoyed this match up to the distraction. apart from that NXT was shaping up to be a great episode.

NXT then showed a promo of Titus o' Neil and Darren Young. Titus attacking Darren, breaking his arm, Darren calling Titus a NXT failure. This then went to a previous match in which Darren Young sat on commentary with his arm in a sling, while Titus was unloading on JTG. Titus won, and you''ll never believe what, The superstar who sat on commentary got up and went to the ring, Wow that has only happend like 73% of the time a superstar comes out and sits on commentary. Darren distracted Titus, when JTG grabbed  Titus's leg and Darren delivered a knuckle sandwich to Titus with his broken arm. He then removed his sling to show that his arm isn't broken. Hmmm, really, very rarely do superstars who have an injury appear on RAW, those with fake injuries for storylines do, you're not fooling anyone. Anyway, he then repeated that Titus is an NXT failure.

The main event was a match between Derrick Bateman vs Darren Young, Darren said on the mic before Bateman came down that Titus is a lost cause. I'd like to interject here. Titus has the build to be a big WWE superstar, if he turned heel, WWE could promote him for a few months, give him a few storylines and in about 2 years he could be a real deal. Darren saying Titus is a NXT failure, well actually Darren you failed before him, in season 1 "the pros eliminated you" well the WWE eliminated you. Titus failed to win as well. So actually you both are NXT failures ok?

The match was fairly decent but ruined at the end by a repeated storyline and poor acting on Bateman's part.
Bateman and Young both began the match immediately going for face paced moves, a great way to start a main event, they then moved to the ring apron, which was kinda expected to be a game changer in the match, Bateman hit what I assume was a reverse atomic drop, where Bateman damaged his spine. Young took control of the match from there, however to Young's credit he made this believable by using ground submissions and holds. This was only a matter of time befor Bateman turned the tables on Young with a very realistic counter, he then threw Darren Young into the ring post, which left him outside, Derrick then hit a running missile dropkick on to Darren, after which Darren was tossed back into the ring. I at this point thought this was a set up, where Curtis would emerge from somewhere and attack Bateman, but shockingly no. Instead they walked onto the stage, Derrick looked at them, and then continued to pound Darren. Maxine said "Derrick are you distracted" No he wasn't he had messed up that's what. She then said that she and Johnny were getting married in two weeks later in vegas, Bateman still didn't acknowledge them for about 30 seconds, until she handed the mic to Johhny, who said were in love. They ended the night with the couple making out on the stage. Has WWE ever had a normal wedding? no, is this just another way to try and boost NXT, without declaring a winner, and beginning a new season?, yes will it end with something going wrong of course it will. What was your favorite WWE Wedding moment? (Post a Comment). Mine would have to be Triple H ruining Stephanie McMahons wedding.

Overall this week was pretty good wrestling wise, but NXT has lossed it's roots with the obstacle course and eliminations.

This episode has scored a 7/10
1: Amazing wrestling in the first match
2: Diva match
3: Great wrestling match by the divas
4: New backstage skit
5: Great wrestling match by Barreta and Hawkins
6: Making my assumpsion wrong, by Curtis not attacking Bateman, when he was outside, after tossing Young in)
7: Return of willaim regal on commentary
